The project "Education and Rehabilitation of Working Children" is a key initiative by Grama Seva Sangam (GSS), aimed at ensuring access to education for all children in the rural and interior regions of Pudukkottai district.
Recognizing education as the foundation for social and economic progress, GSS partnered with Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation in the year 2000 to implement a comprehensive rehabilitation program. This initiative targets vulnerable children, youth, and women, particularly those affected by poverty and child labour.
The project has been successfully implemented across 30 villages in the Annavasal and Viralimalai blocks. Through focused interventions such as educational support, awareness programs, and community engagement, the project works towards bringing children back to school, improving their quality of life, and empowering families for a sustainable future.
