Mrs.Murugagi with here Coir making Unit in 2002

I am Murgayi, from kallukattupatti village in Rajalipatti Panchayat. I belong to scheduled caste from very poor family background. We had no access to income as agriculture was not having much prospects due to monsoon failure. During such time in the year 2001, GSS started one Coir making unit to create income avenue She is in her Expanded Unit in-2014 to the village people. 

I took up coir making training for three months. After training I started unit with three manual coir making machines under the support of GSS. After 12 years of my effort and encouragement and support of GSS funded by SKIP, Switzerland, I have enlarged the unit with 4 automatic coir spinning machines and one coir pith cleaning machine. 

At present, 7 women are working in this unit. My monthly income is now Rs 25,000 to Rs. 35,000 I am also planning to start one coir-mates making unit in future. I am happy now. I have respect in the society. Thanks a lot to GSS
