A. Sumathi (20) D/o Annamalai from the village, Malaikudipatti

I am Ms. A. Sumathi (20) D/o Annamalai from the village, Malaikudipatti. I am the 3rd girl child out of total 6 girl children in my family. My father is a agricultural cooli and my mother Mrs. Rajeswari is a masonry assistant, who made a painstaking travelling every day to Trichy town from Malaikudipatti to find a labour work. Amid such family condition, Ms. Sumathi completed my Higher secondary study and unable to continue my further study due to severe financial crunch of my family and I joined as an assisstant in a Private Hospital at Trichy for more than 3 years with a salary of Rs. 6,000/-month. One day loccasionally met the project coordinator of GSS and known about the GSS sponsored free Nursing and Midwifery Assistant Training programme under the Haurralde Foundation`s sponsorship programme. 

For my interest, I have been selected and under-gone the aforesaid training programme from Holy Family Training Institute, Fathima Nagar, Trichy. GSS paid all the fees for the training. After the successful completion of the training course, I got a job as Nursing Assistant in the Government Primary Health Centre at Bodi Mettu village in Theni District. 

Now, I am earning Rs. 12,000/-month. I am glad too, because I am self supporting and self-reliant, reduce the pathetic condition of my family and support to my parents". As and when I come to my village I take care the medical needs of our village for free of cost. I am bound to thank GSS and Haurralde foundation, spain for their support.
